Island living at its best! This fully equipped American standard house is situated on top of the island, making for a gorgeous ocean view. A walk-around terrace provides a nice hang out area in the shade of the house and also sports an outdoor dining table and a gas grill. A small pool sits on the North side where you can enjoy a Pina Colada while taking in the stunning ocean view and wildlife in the trees. The North shore also has a couple of small beaches.
A couple of things that are good to know before booking:
We are located in a rural area with more nature than people, so be prepared for more wildlife encounters than nightlife, shopping and restaurants ;o)
This is a good spot if you want to be off the beaten track in local community. We are in the gulf at the Nicoya Peninsula, which means taking the ferry over from Puntarenas, or driving down on the gulf side if you come from the northern part of Costa Rica.
The gulf of Nicoya is littered with islands, mangroves and small tidal beaches and nice for kayaking, paddleboarding and fishing.
We have 3 separate units for our accommodation:
The guesthouse "El Yayo" - 3 rooms accomodates up to 9 persons
The cabin "El Bambu" - 1 room accommodates one couple
"Our Island House" - 2 bedrooms accommodates up to 6 persons
The guesthouse “El Yayo” and the cabin “El Bambu” are situated on a hilltop at Punta Cuchillo on the mainland.
While “Our Island House” is on another hilltop, but on the island Isla Cedros right in front.
El Yayo and El Bambu are next to each other and run as a Bed & Breakfast here at Bahia Rica.
Our Island House at Isla Cedros is a fully equipped house which we rent with no meals included. The 5-minute boat transfer back and forth to the island is included.
