Multi Day Sea Kayak Tour

All meals and snacks are included in the trip. Drinks to the meals are also included, however additional drinks, snack etc is your own responsibility. We load what we need for the tour in our kayaks, so everyone will carry their own gear (hammock, clothes and other personal belongings, water and a share of the food provided).
Over 3 days we will paddle in calm bays with fascinating islands where you can go ashore on untouched virgin beaches. Rocky reefs with a diverse marine life can be observed from your sea kayak, or you can jump in the water and take a closer look snorkeling. The jungle is growing right into the sea, and paddling in the mangroves gives a unique experience and possibility to also look at the wildlife along the shore.
A very special treat on this multi-day trip is the night kayaking: A Bioluminescent Sea Kayak Adventure. Visible light made by living creatures is known as bioluminescence. The water around your sea kayak will light up as you create waves, and every paddle stroke is like fireworks.
The scenery while kayaking is simply unique, bring your camera and sense of adventure to this unforgettable Costarican experience!

Example Day to Day Programme
The itinerary will change according to tides, weather conditions and level of experience of the kayakers. The tidal currents are strong and we always plan our trips so that we go with the current as much as possible, and the tide has to be high in order to get into the mangroves.
The itinerary below is an example of how the day-to-day program on a 3-day sea kayak adventure might look like:

Day 1:
After making sure we have all equimpent and provicions divided between the kayaks, we head out across the Paquera Bay to Islas Pajaros. The islands are protected bird sanctuaries with large flocks of pelicans and frigate birds. Here it is nice to take a dip, and if the water is clear for snorkeling. From here we continue to another little group of island where we'll stop and have lunch in the shade under the palm trees at Isla Gitana.
We continue along the beautiful shoreline up to Playa Blanca, where we'll set up our hammock camp for the night. (approx. 14 km)

Day 2:
We paddle into the Bahia Gigante mangroves and the little river while it is high tide. The mangroves offer a unique atmosphere and a variety of birds, crabs, and if we are lucky we may see raccoons and monkeys. From there we continue along shore exploring rock formations and little bays. In the late afternoon we’ll arrive at Isla Jesucita for a nice barbeque and a good night’s rest in our hammocks. And a little evening kayak tour to experiene the magical bioluminescence. (approximately 15 km).

Day 3:
There are many beautiful islands in the area and this day we will explore more of them. We paddle around Isla Cedros and Jesucita and go ashore and take a look at local conditions. We go ashore at San Pedro when it is low tide and eat lunch and do some snorkeling. We paddle out to Islas Negritos, two islands that are protected bird sanctuaries. But here we are not primarily looking for birds, we are looking for Spider Monkeys. From there we head back to Bahia Rica and end our 3-day kayak adventure in the late afternoon. (approx. 14 km)

They have attached mosquito netting, detachable rain fly, support ropes, stuff sack and complimentary tree huggers to protect the bark of trees. Experience a level of comfort on the tour almost as good as your bed at home and maybe even better.

The hammocks are:
- Quick and easy set-up and pack-up.
- Reduced bulk and packweight means you don't weigh down your kayak much.
- Same comfortable bed every night over rocky, muddy, wet or sloping terrain
- Never touches the ground. Stays clean and drys fast.
- You sleep diagonal in the hammock
- No more aching muscles and stiff joints
- Bugproof mosquito net for protection from mosquitoes, sand flies and other bugs while sleeping in a tropical area like Costa Rica..
- Increased protection from sun, wind, rain, insects and small reptiles.
