Enjoy Isla Tortuga in the Low Season

Escape the ordinary and dive into an extraordinary adventure with us here at Bahía Rica Adventures on our day tour to Isla Tortuga. While many flock to this tropical paradise during the high season, the low season offers an equally enchanting, yet more tranquil, experience.

Isla Tortuga, renowned for its pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters, becomes a serene haven during the low season. The island’s natural beauty is undiminished, with lush greenery, vibrant marine life, and stunning landscapes waiting to be explored. The slightly quieter ambiance allows you to immerse yourself fully in the island’s magic without the bustle of larger crowds.

Our day tour starts with a scenic boat ride from Bahía Rica Adventures. As you glide across the calm waters, keep an eye out for rays, turtles and other marine life that often make appearances. The journey itself is a breathtaking introduction to the adventure that lies ahead.

Upon arrival at Isla Tortuga, snorkeling enthusiasts can dive into the warm, inviting waters to discover a colorful underwater paradise teeming with exotic fish and coral reefs. For those who prefer to stay above water, stand-up paddleboarding offers a unique perspective of the island’s coastline, combining adventure with tranquility.

Relaxation is also on the agenda. Lounge on the soft, white sands under the shade of swaying palm trees, or take a leisurely swim in the gentle waves.

A day tour with Bahía Rica Adventures during the low season is more than just a trip; it’s a relaxing escape that reconnects you with nature. With fewer tourists around, you can truly savor the serene beauty of Isla Tortuga. Join us for an unforgettable adventure and discover why the low season is the perfect time to experience this tropical gem.

Travel safe with us!

Inspection ICTThe last months we have worked on improving our tours to have an even better experience to offer now that we can resume operations. A big part of this has of course been the adjustments we have to make to fulfill the sanitary protocol now needed due to Covid-19.

We are happy to inform that we scored 100% on today’s surprise inspection from ICT (the National Institute of Tourism).

It is very important for us that our activities are safe for both travelers and our staff.

We are committed to always follow the protocols, and we do expect the same from our clients.

By nature our activities are convenient in the scene that we only operate with smaller groups and in open air. With us you will be out on the water in a boat, kayak or paddle board – away from crowds and high risk areas.

We are proud to announce that thanks to the preference of all of you, Tripadvisor recognizes us with this achievement, despite the fact that it has not been an easy year.

We are reopening carefully now, and are motivated by this award! There are good times to come!

Bioluminescent bay kayak tour

Like swimming in a starry sky

If you want to experience something really out of this world, you should definitely try the bioluminescent bay kayak tour conducted by the Bahia Rica Fishing & Kayak Lodge.

Imagine kayaking at night in water that turns light blue at the touch of your hand. It’s like swimming in a starry sky, with fish moving around you, creating little comets of light, while your paddle creates galaxies in the water. It’s really a once-in-a-lifetime experience that no one should miss.” Writes Patrick Goodness, in an article in The Luxury Couple about his life and experiences in Costa Rica.

Patrick has lived in Costa Rica for 10 years, and in this article he shares with us some of his favorite places to visit, and activities to do. The bioluminescent kayak tour and Sport fishing with Bahia Rica is among those favorites. Read about how Bahia Rica is his ‘go-to’ team for fishing and snorkeling trips in the Gulf of Nicoya.
