The wait is over\u2014our first humpback whale sightings of the season have officially been confirmed, and we couldn’t be more excited!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year, humpback whales make one of the longest migrations on Earth, traveling thousands of kilometers to the warm, protected waters of Costa Rica to give birth and care for their calves. The calm waters of the Gulf of Nicoya provide a wonderful place to spot these gentle giants, and the season has now begun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the coming months, lucky visitors may witness breathtaking moments as whales surface to breathe, lift their massive tails, or even leap completely out of the water in spectacular breaches. While every tour is unique, each encounter is an unforgettable reminder of just how incredible nature can be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Whale & Dolphin Watching Tour departs from Bah\u00eda Rica and takes you into the beautiful waters surrounding the gulf, where we search not only for humpback whales but also for the resident pods of playful dolphins that live here year-round. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning coastal scenery, peaceful islands, and the chance to experience one of Costa Rica’s richest marine ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Male humpbacks are known for their haunting songs, which can travel many kilometers underwater.
\u2022 Costa Rica is unique because it receives humpback whales from both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, giving us one of the world’s longest whale watching seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
