Kayaking is a great way to explore, and this area has both island, tidal beaches and mangroves. You can put in some laps and get a great workout, or just enjoy the sunset while gliding across the water in a kayak.

Bahia Rica Fishing & Kayak Lodge is located 50 meters from the water’s edge at Punta Cuchillo. Our bay was like built for kayaking: it is sheltered from the wind, has near-shore islands within an easy paddle, and a varied bird, fish and animal life. There is no better way to get close to nature!

What to expect
Bahía Rica has high quality kayaks for rent.

We have safety equipment and snorkeling and other activity equipment available for rent as well.

You have to bring your own sunscreen lotion, sunglasses and clothes suitable for your tour.

If you wish to bring along electronic equipment such as camera, phone you can rent dry bags from Bahía Rica Adventures.

Kayak rentals - Logistics

Practical details:
– Place of departure and return: The kayaks are to be launched and returned at the Bahia Rica beach
– Rental time: Between 8 am and 6 pm
– Capacity: Maximum 20 persons
– Age limit: 18 years for kayak rental (children can rent kayaks under supervision of an adult)

What to bring:
- Sandals or water shoes
- Light clothes that can get wet and/or a change of clothes
- Swimsuit
- Sunscreen, sunglasses and hat/caps
- Towel and change of clothes

Kayak rental - Policy
Deposit
A deposit is required per kayak rental and you have to sign a waiver. Proper ID (passport if you are not Costa Rican) is required.

Damaged, Lost or Stolen Equipment Rental Policy
All of our kayak equipment (including paddle and life jacket) is considered a rental to the customer.

We understand the normal wear and tear associated with the use of our products; however, customers are responsible for our rental products and all damage to them and for any loss due to broken, buckled, lost or stolen kayaks. We do not charge for minor scratches on the kayaks but do charge for major dings, broken rudders, broken seats, broken or chipped paddles and broken, buckled, lost or stolen kayaks, paddles and life jackets.

Insurance:
We have insurance for our activities through INS (Instituto Nacional de Seguros).
For safety, please do not consume alcohol before the kayak tour.
