Perfect stand up paddleboarding conditions

Bahia Rica Fishing & Kayak Lodge is located 50 meters from the water’s edge at Punta Cuchillo. Our bay was like built for paddleboarding: it is sheltered from the wind, has near-shore islands within an easy paddle, and a varied bird, fish and animal life. There is no better place in Costa Rica to flat water and adventure SUP!

What to expect
Bahía Rica has high quality Hobie DuraGlide Stand Up Paddleboards for rent.

We have safety equipment and snorkeling and other activity equipment available as well.

You have to bring your own sunscreen lotion, sunglasses and clothes suitable for your tour.

If you wish to bring along electronic equipment such as camera, phone you can rent dry bags from Bahía Rica Adventures.

Our Hobie DuraGlide 10'10" SUP boards are built for flatwater, and have a great shape for touring and paddle faster than any surf shape SUP boards.

A fusion of performance, stability and durability, the Dura Glide series is perfect for entry to intermediate paddlers.

The paddles included with the rental fee are Hobie's EXP-Stretch 7.5 with adjustable length. This SUP paddle that is a perfect paddle for families and excellent choice for paddlers of different height and strength.

Stand up paddleboard rentals - Logistics
 

Practical details:
– Place of departure and return: The SUP’s are to be launched and returned at the Bahia Rica beach
– Rental time: Between 8 am and 6 pm
– Capacity: Maximum 4 persons
– Age limit: 18 years for SUP rental (children can rent SUPs under supervision of an adult)

What to bring:
- Sandals or water shoes
- Light clothes that can get wet
- Swimsuit
- Sunscreen, sunglasses and hat/caps
- Towel and change of clothes

Stand up paddleboard rentals - Policy
Deposit
A deposit is required per board rental and you have to sign a waiver. Proper ID (passport if you are not Costa Rican) is required.

Damaged, Lost or Stolen Equipment Rental Policy
All of our SUP equipment (including paddle and life jacket) is considered a rental to the customer.

We understand the normal wear and tear associated with the use of our products; however, customers are responsible for our rental products and all damage to them and for any loss due to broken, buckled, lost or stolen boards. We do not charge for minor scratches on boards but do charge for major dings, broken fins, broken fin boxes, broken or chipped paddles and broken, buckled, lost or stolen boards, paddles and life jackets.

Insurance:
We have insurance for our activities through INS (Instituto Nacional de Seguros).
For safety, please do not consume alcohol before the kayak tour
