We start out watching the beautiful sunset over the mountains. You can enjoy some drinks and fruit as the sky lights up with beautiful hues of varying color. As night falls we move to the darkest areas we know of to start enjoying the magic of the bioluminesence.

As the boat moves through the dark water, a glowing trail of shimmering blue and green is seen where the boat disturbes the water. Beneath the surface, tiny plankton ignite in radiant flashes, turning the ocean into a living constellation. With each movement, the boat stirs the luminous tide, creating a mesmerizing dance of light and motion easily visible at night.

Then comes the best part...the chance to get in the water and become a real life Avatar! We will also have some masks available for those who want the underwater view.

Sunset and Bioluminesent yacht tour :When the sun goes down we are just getting started!

A little before sunset we gather at the beach where a smaller boat will take us out to the yacht. Once onboard, our guide will give a breifing about the tour. Complimentary drinks, water, coffee, fruit and snack will be available during the tour.

Enjoy the magical sunset as we cruise in the bay and around the islands. It is common to see several species of birds and fish as we move around. As it gets darker we will look for the best spot to stop so you can jump in and play around in the glowing, sparkly water.

Upon the return to the Bahia Rica beach, we have fresh water, shower and bathroom facilities if needed.

The darker the night, the better the experience will be. Around full moon the light from the moon is so strong that it makes it harder to see the bioluminescence.

We have grown up seeing millions of stars light up the night sky, beautiful, far away and untouchable.The algae react to disturbance so when the boat or your hand moves through the water, it triggers a bio-chemical reaction which results in a small flash of light. When there are millions...just imagine the effect!

Enjoy cruising with the private yacht in an area with very little light pollution, because the darker it is, the better you see the glowing sparks in the water.
Bioluminescence is found in many parts of the world, however in most locations it is either seasonal or requires perfect conditions in order to occur. Contrastingly, the Paquera Bay is home to bioluminescence year-round.
