Cabina Mariposa is a cozy one-bedroom cabin located on Isla Cedros, offering a peaceful and comfortable retreat. The well-equipped kitchenette provides what you need to prepare meals, and the living area includes a sofa bed and a flat-screen TV with access to YouTube and Netflix for your entertainment.
The bedroom features both a double bed and a single bed, making it ideal for small groups or families. WiFi is available, ensuring you stay connected during your stay.
Guests have access to a nearby laundry room, and clothes can be air-dried on the outdoor clotheslines. Cabina Mariposa is the perfect spot to relax and unwind while enjoying the simplicity of island life.
We do not live on the island ourselves, but will meet you on your arrival day. We live on the mainland just 5 minutes boatride from the island house. Please do not hesitate to contact us for help planning your stay, we organize several activities (sport fishing, kayak tours, Isla Tortuga boat tours, Whale watching (in the season), SUP rental and not least the bioluminescent kayak tour.
It is located in a non-touristy area; the neighbors are all fishermen. The house is just 200 meters from the water on each side, however the beaches close to the house are very small tidal beaches (meaning that when the tide is up, the water comes all the way up to the rock wall). There is a bigger palm tree beach, Playa Langosta, on Isla Cedros about 15-20 minutes’ walk along a trail - or a quick boat ride with Beto.
The water is good for drinking, so you do not need to bring water.
Make sure to pick up groceries ahead of time as there are no stores on the island. There are a few restaurants close by or just a short boat ride from the house:
Boat transport to and from the island on your arrival and departure day is included in the price. The on-site caretaker, Beto, is happy give you additional boat transfers against a fee. Be sure to arrange boat transfers with Beto ahead of time, as he might not always be available. There are no roads or cars on this island. People walk the inland paths, but mostly use their boats to get around.
